Festival Of Lights set for Saturday, Nov. 30
The annual Festival of Lights celebration will take place Saturday, Nov. 30 on the Courthouse Square in downtown Hallettsville.
The day will begin with artisan, food and drink vendors opening from noon to 6 p.m. and during the same time music will be provided by Doc Welby and Chris Rybak.
The young, and the young at heart, will be able to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the courthouse from noon to 4 p.m. and a Kid Zone with a petting zoo and games will also be available from noon to 4 p.m
At 2 p.m., those attending will be entertained by an On Pointe Dance performance and at 4 p.m. awards and photos will be taken on the main stage of the winners of the ornament contest.
The schedule of events in the evening will have the annual live Nativity pageant, depicting the life of Jesus Christ, starting things off at 6 p.m.
Following the play, the lighting extravaganza will be held at 6:45 p.m. with the Christmas lights on and around the Lavaca County Courthouse turned on to start the Christmas season.
At 7:15 p.m. the lighted parade will take place, where it will take a route around the Courthouse Square.
Festival of Lights organizers hope the event will remind you that Christmas is a time when our thoughts turn to special people Christ has brought into our lives — and as we remember our hearts are warmed with love.
“Celebrate with us our Past and enjoy our Present so that you might catch a glimpse of our Future while we feel the Peace, envision the Hope, celebrate the Joy, and share the Love of Christmas,” the Festival of Lights committee says.
