Postal rates change July 14

Beginning Sunday, July 14, the United States Postal Service will be adjusting its shipping rates and will affect sending letters and packages.

Some of the pricing changes occurred on Monday, July 1 and included on ground advantage for packages under and over one pound as well as priority mail, priority mail flats and priority mail cubic went up on Monday, July 1.

Starting July 14, first class mail stamps are going up a nickle, from 68 cents to 73 cents. Overall mailing services will increase 7.8%.

The new prices for mailing services include current price and increase to new rate:

• Stamp price (1 oz.) – 68 cents to 73 cents.

• Stamp price (2 oz.) – 92 cents to $1.01.

• Meter price (1 oz.) – 64 cents to 69 cents.

• Single-piece flat (1 oz) – $1.39 to %1.50.

• Single-piece postcard (domestic) – 53 cents to 56 cents.

• Certified mail – $4.40 to $4.85.

• Certificate of Mailing – $2.00 to $2.20.

• International Letter (1 oz.) – $1.55 to $1.65.
