Shiner Spring Church picnic this Sunday
The 38th Annual Shiner Catholic Church Spring Picnic is this Sunday, May 26 at the Knights of Columbus Park.
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with a country store selling canned and baked goods as well as kolaches and pigs-in-the-blanket.
Plates of picnic stew, fried chicken, and country sausage will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plates are $15 each. Drive thru plates to go will also be available at the Kaspar Pavilion at Green Dickson Park.
Music will be ongoing from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. inside the KC Hall. Some of the acts include Isaak Klaus and the Lederhosen Junkies, the Shiner Hobo Band, and Mark Halata and Texavia.
Music outside from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. includes Michael Dutka, Shim-Mix, Stephanie Petras and the Southern Drive Band and Chris Rybak Band.
A dance with The Emotions will start at 9 p.m. inside the hall as well. Admission is free for ages 21 and over.
A “big country auction” will occur at 12 p.m. with a cattle auction starting at 3 p.m. There will also be drawing for raffle prizes starting at 10 p.m.
For the kids, there will be a petting zoo from 2 p.m. through 5 p.m. Games will occur throughout the day including a ring toss, ball throw, plant wheel, wheel of fortune, bingo and a washer tourney as well.
Don’t forget those famous picnic hamburger being served hot off the grill all afternoon.
