Anita Louise Schulte
Anita Louise Schulte, 82, of Yoakum, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was born May 16, 1942 in Hallettsville, the first of seven children born to Charles and Victoria Agnes (Janak) Motal.
Anita graduated from Shiner Catholic School.
She met her beloved Glenn Schulte, and they were married on June 29, 1963. They shared the next 59 years together until his passing in April 2023.
Anita was a kind, gentle woman and truly a humble servant of God. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, an Associate of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, taught 4th grade CCD religion classes for many years and on the side was always willing to help clean Yoakum and Sweet Home Catholic Churches. She was a member of KJZT, and she continued her physical fitness with Rock Steady Boxing, using her hot pink boxing gloves. Anita was a leader of making all those homemade noodles for the church benefits. Her love, laughter and hardworking hands will be missed by her family, friends and sisters in Christ. May she rest in peace.
Survivors are her son, Timothy Schulte (Susan) of West; daughters, Glenda Nevlud (Bob) of Shiner; JoAnn Barton (Michael) of Hallettsville, and Marsha Rice (Steve) of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Dierschke (Ronnie) of Hallettsville; Josephine Machacek of Shiner, and Barbara Jenkins (Johnny) of Wied; brothers, Charles Motal (Joyce) of Shiner, Daniel Motal (Bernice) of Columbus and Robert Motal (Susan) of Wied; numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Victoria Motal; husband, Glenn Schulte, and granddaughter, Feryn Schulte.
Visitation began at 4 p.m. and continued until 6 p.m. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Friday, July 19 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Yoakum, with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating.
Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Paden Schulte, Keton Schulte, Ethan Nevlud, Nick Nevlud, Weston Barton, Dylan Barton, Austin Barton, and Sullivan Rice.
Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters, Shyan Schulte, Adryn Schulte, Kayla Hanson, Darcy Rice, and Delaney Rice.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament in Victoria.
Arrangements were entrusted to Thiele Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.
