Doris Hellen (Caro) Gilbreth
Doris Hellen (Caro) Gilbreth passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Doris was born and raised in Pensacola. After graduating from Escambia High School, Doris left Pensacola to explore the world. After working for National Airlines and American Airlines as a hostess, Doris settled in Corpus Christi. There she ran her own successful travel agency. After selling the travel agency, Doris became the manager of a law firm in Corpus Christi. Doris retired from the law firm and settled in Hallettsville, with her husband and six rescued beagles.
Doris returned to Pensacola in 2016 to enjoy her retirement.
Doris was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, BF and Elsie Caro; her sisters, Melba (John) and Margie (Harry), and brother, Ronnie.
Doris is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ken, and stepdaughter, Becky (Greg) and her brothers, Kip (Bonnie) and Glenn (Susie).
The family would like to offer a special “Thank You” to Doris’s caregiver Susie Reigler.
Doris was entrusted to the care of Pensacola Memorial Gardens for a private service.
