Gary G. Barta
Gary G. Barta, 74, of Moulton passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.
He was born May 23, 1950 in Shiner to Alfred and Josephine (Berckenhoff) Barta.
Gary is a 1969 graduate of Moulton High School and a veteran having served in the National Guard.
He married Linda Davis and for the next 49 years, they shared their ups and downs on life’s journey.
Gary worked as a journey machinist until his retirement. Gary loved life, the outdoors, fishing, gardening and any animal that he ever encountered! He was known to be a prankster and loved to make others laugh.
Even though his activity was limited, he found joy in the simple things around him. Gary loved watching the birds on the feeders and all the animals playing around him. He treasured his family and his beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be missed by everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Davis) Barta of Moulton; daughters, Mandy Ramirez (Val) and Ashley Vernon (Bubba), all of Moulton; five grandchildren, Keith Vernon (Caitlyn), Orion Ramirez (Hannah), Brandon Ramirez, Gavin Ramirez and McKenzie Renden (Sabastian) and their first great-grandbaby is on its way; brother, Allen Barta (Doris) of Moulton; numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum. Adam Jacquez officiated.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas, Dornburg Center in appreciation for their wonderful care and support.
