    The Yoakum High School (YHS) Bulldog Baseball Team split a pair of road games last week against Tidehaven and Edna.

    TIDEHAVEN 3, YOAKUM 1

    Several early runs for Tidehaven for enough to see them past Yoakum 3-1 in Tidehaven on March 26.

    The Tigers led 2-0 after the opening inning and scored one run in the second.

    Yoakum avoided a shutout with a run in the fifth frame.

    Yoakum had six players with one hit each, led by Trae Cuellar who went 1-for-3 with one run.

    Brett Lerch hit 1-for3 with a double and Ty Gordon was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

    Sutton Pavliksa had six putouts in the field.

    Lerch was 2-for-4, home run and five RBI to help Yoakum get past Edna 7-5 on March 28.

    The game was scoreless until the third inning which concluded with a 4-3 Yoakum lead.

    Each team brought in two runs in the fourth box and Yoakum scored one in the seventh.

    Brenten Jacob started on the hill, going three innings with three runs on four hits, one walk and two strikeouts;

    Bradley Jacob went 2/3 innings with three hits, two runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

    Owen Blanco closed out with 3 1/3 innings, three hits, five strikeouts and a save.

    Hanzellka and Jamar Hopkins each had three putouts.
