Cross Country has two varsity runners in top 10

Yoakum High School (YHS) Cross Country runners competed in the Gonzales Invitational Sept. 21 with three runners placing in the top 10 in their race.

VARSITY LADY BULLDOGS

Gracei Martinez placed ninth in 13 minutes, 42.53 seconds to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Anaiah Thiele was No. 16 in 14:11.84; KC Lawwill finished in 15:28.34 for No. 34; Madeline Massey was No. 47 with 16:13.65.

VARSITY BULLDOGS

Clayton Hlavac earned sixth with 17:41.61; Adrian Blakeney finished at 18:38.01 for No. 11; Aidan Jimenez was No. 28 with 19:19.14 and Julian Espinoza was No. 31 in 19:25.77.

JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS

Abeigh Dicke was No. 12 with 17:37.67, followed by Kaitlyn Lopez in 17:48.49.

JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS

Noah Jimenez was seventh in 21:09.04; Nathan Vo was No. 16 in 23:20.51 and Moises Morales was No. 24 in 24:17.26.

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS

Yoakum was No. 10 with 238 points.

Josephine Pilat was No. 16 in 15:08.17; Loralie Pilat was timed at 15:39.33 for No. 23; Lylybeth Gonzales was No. 72 in 17:57.24; Cavauna Mireles was No. 74 in 18:00.53.

Kassidy Rivera was No. 93 in 18:50.18; Montse Sagahon was No. 113 in 20:15.65; Rozuhlee Herrera was No. 122 in 21:29.06. followed by Nadilly Crain in 21:32.51.

Yoselin Medina was No. 150 in 23:32.26.

Kensly Navarro was No. 164 in 26:38.59 and following was Nailea Arnaud in 26:38.67.

The next meet will be held Sept. 28 in Shiner.
