Moulton girls basketball: Kittens win VSJ Tournament
The Kittens went undefeated in four games to win the Victoria St. Joseph tournament last week.
Addison Simper was named Tournament MVP and Audrey Swinford was named to the All-Tournament team.
Moulton 46, El Campo 28
Swinford nailed 14 points as Moulton defeated El Campo 46-28 to start the tournament Friday.
The teams shared 20 first-quarter points; Moulton went on a 12-6 second-quarter run for a 22-16 halftime lead. The Kittens went on a 14-10 run in the third frame and a 10-2 run in the fourth period.
Riannah Miles led El Campo with nine points.

Swinford dropped in 17 points and Blahuta netted 10 points with a triple as the Kittens beat Yoakum 48-24 in their second Friday game.
Moulton got off to a sizzling start with a 26-4 first-quarter run and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 12-8 in the second frame.
Yoakum scored eight of 12 in the third box and the Kittens held a 6-4 scoring advantage in the final period.
Deveah Rios sank eight points to lead Yoakum.

Swinford put in 11 points as the Kittens blasted Goliad 36-10 on Saturday.
Moulton went on a 16-2 run in the opening period and took a 22-9 halftime lead.
The Kittens scored all six of the third-quarter points before outscoring Goliad 9-1 in the fourth quarter.
Abriana Mendez had three points for the Tigerettes.

Araceli Vasquez converted three triples and netted 17 points as the Kittens capped their unbeaten tournament run with a 34-17 win versus the hosts on Saturday.
Moulton led 14-6 after the first frame and shut out the Lady Flyers 4-0 in the second quarter for an 18-6 halftime advantage. In third-period action, the Kittens scored nine of 13 points and each team booked seven points in the final eight minutes.
Bella Mikus was the top scorer for St. Joseph with nine points.

The Kittens outscored the Brahmaettes 13-5 in the initial period and went on a 7-5 run in the second quarter for a 20-10 halftime advantage.
The Kittens scored 13 of 19 points in the third and went on an 11-4 run in the fourth period.
Maggie Davoody hit two triples and recorded 10 points to lead Bellville.
