YHS Varsity Cross Country boys place third at Karnes City invitational

The Yoakum boys took third to highlight the cross-country team’s races at the Karnes City Invitational Aug. 24.

VARSITY BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs recorded 79 points for the bronze.

Aiden Alvarez was the top finisher with fifth place in 14 minutes, 38.88 seconds and a pace of 4:53 per mile.

Clayton Hlavac was No. 27 in 16:44.13 (5:35) and following was Trevor Moreno (16:45.77, 5:35).

Adrian Blakeney was No. 31 in 17:03.15 (5:41); Aiden Jimenez finished in 17:08.55 (5:43) for No. 31.

Ian Pilat was No. 46 in 17:44.04 (5:55).

Domnic Novak won No. 48 in 17:57.29 (5:59).

VARSITY LADY BULLDOGS

Gracei Martinez was Yoakum’s top finisher with No. 10 in 11:43.88 and a 5:51 pace.

She was followed by Ximena Miller (11:44.68, 5:52).

JUNIOR VARSITY LADY BULLDOGS

The Lady ‘Dogs had three runners in the top 10.

Anaiah Thiele was the top finisher with third in 13:14.74 (6:37).

Memori Rosales was top 10 with eighth in 13:46.41 (6:53) followed by Madeline Massey in 13:48.17 (6:54).

Dulce Lara was No. 11 in 13:55.96 (6:57).

Calayha Etoll was No. 13 in 14:07.87 (7:03).

KC Lawwill placed No. 17 in 14:48.72 (7:24); Abeigh Dicke was No. 21 in 16:01.64 (8:00) and Kaitlyn Lopez was No. 24 in 16:35.51 (8:17).

JUNIOR VARSITY BULLDOGS

Noah Jimenez was third in 11:02.07 (5:31).

Julian Espinoza finished in ninth in 11:43.25 (5:51).

Nathan Vo was No. 22 in 13:17.08 (6:38). Moises Morales placed No. 34 with 15:36.74 (7:48).

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS

Loralie Pilat was No. 11 in 12:53.43 (6:26).

JUNIOR HIGH BOYS

Joseph Novak was No. 16 in 11:20.4 (5:40); Lukas Gonzales was clocked at 11:28.83 (5:41) for No. 18.

Benito Olmedo was No. 28 in 12:13.31 (6:06).
