St. Paul Volleyball: Lady Cardinals get five wins at Rice

The Lady Cardinals volleyball team went 5-3 in the Rice Tournament last Thursday through Saturday. Pool D (Thursday) The Lady Cardinals went 1-2 in Pool D play on Thursday to capture third place, going up against Palacios, Weimar and Boling. St. Paul 2, Palacios 1 St.

Football: Shiner teams will look to rebound

Shiner hosts Industrial while St. Paul is at San Antonio TMI-Episcopal. Both teams fell in their openers. Industrial at Shiner Shiner hosts Industrial at 7:30 p.m. at Comanche Stadium for the first of two straight home games.

St. Paul Football: Flatonia 35, St. Paul 0

St. Paul  preferred a  better outcome in their season opener, but a season does not ride on the first game. The Flatonia Bulldogs muscled their way past St. Paul, through the air and the ground, and played solid defense in blanking the Cardinals 35-0 Friday night at Comanche Stadium.

St. Paul volleyball: Cowgirls hand St. Paul 3-0 loss

As a lot of teams are doing less than three weeks into the new season, the St. Paul volleyball team is still under construction. The Lady Cardinals dropped a non-district match to Edna Cowgirls 26-24, 25-15, 25-9 Aug. 23 at St .Paul High School. St.

St. Paul volleyball: Brown takes over Lady Cards in her first volleyball head coaching job

Longtime St. Paul coach Nicco Brown will add another head coach title to her current docket. Brown, who has served as assistant for cross-country, girls basketball and track as well as head coach for golf and cross-country (since 2020) is the new head coach for the Lady Cardinals volleyball team.

Cross country: Shiner, St. Paul run in Yoakum

The Shiner and St. Paul cross-country teams started the season Saturday in Yoakum with the each school’s girls varsity teams placing top five. Shiner Varsity Girls The Lady Comanches scored 100 points to finish fourth place in the team standings Brinley Ramirez was No.

Area football: Comanches battle Tidehaven, SP scrimmage NS

Both Shiner teams held their first scrimmages at the end of last week. The Cardinals were at Nixon on Thursday while the Comanches hosted Tidehaven in the Soap/Towel Scrimmage on Friday. NS scrimmage beneficial for Cardinals St.

Shiner Catholic School basketball, volleyball camps

The SCS athletic program offered a 3-day volleyball and basketball camp to students entering grades 4-8 on July 18-20. The camp focused on developing basic fundamentals for the younger participants while challenging the skills of the more experienced players.
