    The Yoakum Independent School District (YISD) honored 12 retirees that have a combined 172 years of service to Yoakum students. 

     

    YISD Superintendent Tom Kelley opened the celebration at the Yoakum Intermediate School on Friday morning by expressing gratitude to the departing staff members that dedicated years of their careers to educating local youth.

     

    “On behalf of our school board members, our administration and everybody in Yoakum ISD, we would like to say thank you to our retirees,” said Kelley. “Congratulations and we wish you the best. We just want to say thank you for all the sacrifices and all the impacts you’ve made on the students.”

     

    The 2022 slate of YISD retirees included Connie Sue Barfield, Debra A. Coleman, Rachel M. Owens, Amy A. Hull, Sandra Walters, Janet L. Jiral, Roma Jo Delvige, Michael J. Ermis, Debra Lea Vinklarek, Yvette A. McCracken, Janice Marie Korinek and Domitila Ramos.
