Bryan made one of his first trips to the grocery store late last month to pick up a few necessities and treats.

How will you be remembered?

“I hope people are still talking about Bryan’s 100 years after I’m gone,” he said to no one in particular, not so long ago.  I glanced at the empty tables to my left. Then shot a quick look to the tables at my back. Only then did I realize my buddy Ignacio Morales was talking to me.

Column: If only those walls could talk

From the beginning of my interest in Texas history, I’ve had a lifelong love of old buildings - particularly family dwellings. Over the years when driving through towns, cities, and the countryside; I have always been intrigued by structures along the way and their architecture.

H.L. Hunley, world's first combat submarine

Today we have many sophisticated weapons such as the world has never seen. We have stealth bombers and many of our navy ships contain some sort of stealth technology. It might surprise some people that there was a stealth weapon used over 150 years ago in the American Civil War.

Column: Too hot to trot

Like most folks in Texas, and anywhere the weather is hot, I tend to stay pretty close to the A/C when the days get as hot as they have been lately. Staying inside and out of the heat is fairly easy for most adults, but what about dogs?
