New foundation formed

After watching the Little Dribblers basketball league last season, Robert Werner saw kids struggling to keep their grip on the floor and were sliding everywhere. This inspired Werner on a mission to update the existing old gym of Shiner ISD.

This Wild Bill Was No Hero

Years ago, television had an abundance of stories about the old West. One of my favorites was about the adventures of a kindly gunfighter known as, "The Texan." This guy was my hero and best I remember he always wore a black vest.

Shiner Catholic School alumni now an EMT, fireman

Shiner Catholic School alumni Atley Pilat recently graduated from the Victoria Fire Academy and passed all his required state tests.  He is now a certified EMT and fire fighter.  Atley is a 2020 graduate of St. Paul High School.

Moulton Royalty Pageant sign up ends July 5

The 2022 Moulton Royalty pageant is right around the corner, and members of the Moulton Chamber of Commerce are actively recruiting for this year’s slate of candidates. The lone requirement of each contestant is that they reside within the bounds of the local school district.
Texas team who competed at the national championship in Georgia last week returned with several top honors, including World Champion Team and World Champion Girls & Boys Teams. Several individual honors were also recognized: Craig and Bella Sciba are the World Champion Ribbon Roping Team, Craig Sciba is the World Champion Chute Dogger, Craig Sciba is also All-Around Cowboy, Mia Janosky and Craig Sciba were both picked for Winning Horse of the Year, Colee Cox is World Champion Girls Breakaway, Wyatt Howell w

Jacob Heck to split time between county's Catholic school bands

There’s a new leader of the band coming to Shiner Catholic Schools, and turns out, he’s the same fellow who helped lead the Sacred Heart Indian Band to the school’s highest point finish ever (405 points), earning them the runners-up title at last year’s TAPPS State Band Championship for Class 2A.
