The annual Sacred Heart Parish Spring picnic is Sunday, with all activities taking place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.The traditional meal consisting of country fried chicken, stew, homemade cornbread dressing with all the trimmings will be served in the hall from 10:30 a.m.

Monday a.m. accident sends one to hospital

A two-vehicle accident Monday morning at the intersection of Fourth and S. Texana streets sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.According to the Hallettsville Police Department, the accident took place around 7:30 a.m.

SISD discuss bond, summer construction updates

The Shiner Independent School Board members discussed bond, construction updates and summer facilities projects at the May 20 SISD board meeting. “On the construction side, things are going to start moving pretty quickly,” Superintendent Alex Remschel said.

Shiner Clippers receive donation from Spoetzl Brewery Charitable Fund

The Spoetzl Brewery Charitable fund donated $1,500 to the Shiner Clippers Baseball team to help with the cost of their new jerseys.

Shiner Spring Church picnic this Sunday

The 38th Annual Shiner Catholic Church Spring Picnic is this Sunday, May 26 at the Knights of Columbus Park.The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with a country store selling canned and baked goods as well as kolaches and pigs-in-the-blanket.
