Kolache Fest set for Sept. 30

The 28th annual Kolache Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville. Activities will begin on Friday evening, Sept. 29 with 42 Domino warm-up games being played at the hall beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Uninsured rates fall in 2022, latest census data shows

The share of people without health insurance coverage decreased in 27 states between 2021 and 2022, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report released last week. In 25 states where the uninsured rate decreased, at least one of the many types of public or private insurance changed significantly.
