Judge Old sets two cases for trial

William D. Old II presided over trial announcement day in the 25th District Court, setting two cases for trial and issuing several probation and prison sentences.Two cases were announced and are scheduled for trial beginning March 17. Additional details were not released.

Minor Injuries After Major Rescue on County Road 132

Last Thursday, Lavaca County Emergency Management Services responded to a one vehicle accident that occurred on CR 132.The accident involved an MVA trash truck. “The call came in at 8:31 in the morning,” EMS Chief Michael Furrh said.

City of Moulton continues various parks improvements

The City of Moulton has been making some strides in improving both of its parks.There are two parks in Moulton, one of them being the original City Park and a new park downtown. The new park downtown has a new name.

DeWitt Commissioners present proclamation, extend burn ban

DeWitt County Commissioners adopted a resolution proclaiming the week of Feb. 28 as DeWitt County Youth Livestock Show Week.“We are recognizing the value of the 4-H and FFA members participating in the Cuero Livestock Show,” Judge Daryl Fowler said.

LHD board hears Gulf Bend Center presentation

The Lavaca Hospital District Board of Directors met in a regular meeting Monday evening and heard a presentation on the Gulf Bend Center of Victoria.Gulf Bend Center executive director Jeff Tunnell spoke to the board informing them of what the center provides for its patients.
