Shiner softball: Vincik plays in over 50 games for final season Galveston JC

During her sophomore and final year on the Galveston Junior College softball, Shiner graduate Paeden Vincik saw action in over 50 games at catcher.
Her first action came in the Jan. 30 opener (the first game of a four-game series) vs Howard College, a 23-3 win for the Lady Whitecaps and Vincik had three at bats, two walks, one strikeout and .400 on base on five plate appearances. In the field, she had three chances, two putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner caught stealing percentage.
Her next action came on Jan. 31 against Howard College in a 12-4 win in game three of the series. Vincik had four at bats, one hit, two RBI, .250 batting, .250 slugging, .250 on base and four at bats. In the field, she had seven chances, six putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner caught stealing.
In a 15-1 win over Ranger College on Feb. 6 in the opener of a four-game series, she had two hits on three at bats, four RBI, two extra-base hits, two home runs, 667 batting, .667 on base, 2.667 slugging and three plate appearances. Behind the plate, she had 11 total chances, seven putouts, four assists, 1.000 fielding, two runners caught stealing and 1.000 runners caught stealing.
During the Lady Whitecaps’ 8-1 win against Ranger College on Feb. 7 in game three of the series, Vincik had three at bats, one strikeout and three plate appearances. In the field, she had 11 chances, 10 putouts, 1 assist and 1.000 fielding.
In an 11-1 win over Cisco College on Feb. 12 in the opener of a doubleheader, she had four hits on four at bats, seven RBI, three extra-base hits, three home runs, 1.000 batting, 1.000 on base, 3.250 slugging and four plate appearances. In the field, she had six putouts on six chances and 1.000 fielding.
In a 15-0 shut out of Cisco College later in the day in the second game, Vincik was 1-for-2, one RBI, .500 batting, .667 on base, .500 slugging, one hit by pitch and three plate appearance. In the field, she had three chances, three putouts, 1.000 fielding and one stolen base allowed.
On Feb. 18 in an 11-2 win at Kilgore College in the first game of a doubleheader, Vincik had three at bats, one hit, one RBI, one walk,one extra-base hit, one home run, .333 batting, .500 on base, 1.333 slugging and four plate appearances. In the field, she made 11 putouts on 11 chances for 1.000 fielding.
Later on Feb. 18 in a 14-5 win for Galveston College against Kilgore College in the closer of the doubleheader, she had three at bats, two hits, one extra-base hit, one double, .667 batting, .667 on base, 1.000 slugging, one hit into double play and three plate appearances. In the field, she had two putouts on two chances, 1.000 fielding and one stolen base allowed.
In a 3-2 win against Monroe University at home Feb. 27 in the first game of a four-game series and first game of a doubleheader, Vincik had one at bat, two walks, one strikeout and .667 on base. In the field, she had 11 chances, eight putouts, three assists, 1.000 fielding, three stolen bases allowed, one runner caught stealing and .400 runner-caught stealing.
In the 15-0 win in the second game of the series against Monroe and the second of a doubleheader on Feb. 27, she had three at bats; in the field, she had one putout on one chance and 1.000 fielding.
In the third game of the series and first of a doubleheader on Feb. 28, Vincik had four at bats, and nine chances in the field, six putouts, three assists, 1.000 fielding, one stolen base allowed, one runner caught stealing and a .500 runner-caught stealing in the Lady Whitecaps’ 12-7 win.
In the series finale and second game of a doubleheader on Feb. 28, GC won 3-1 with Vincik getting three at bats; six chances, five putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner-caught stealing in the 3-1 win for the Lady Whitecaps.
In the opener of a doubleheader at Bossier Parish Community College on March 4, she had two at bats, two hits, two RBI, one walk, one double, one home run, two extra-base hits, 1.000 batting, 1.000 on base and 1.000 slugging; in the field, she had five chances, five putouts and 1.000 fielding as GC took a 4-2 win.
In the closer of the doubleheader that day, the Lady Whitecaps fell 6-5. Vincik had three at bats, one hit, .333 batting, .333 on base and .333 slugging; she had two chances, two putouts and 1.000 fielding in the field.
In the opener of a doubleheader March 5 at Tyler Junior College, she had three at bats, two hits, one strikeout, .667 batting, .667 on base and .667 slugging. In the field, she had seven putouts on seven chances for 1.000 fielding in the 2-1 GC victory.
In the closing game of the doubleheader, the Lady Whitecaps won 8-0 as Vincik had three at bats, one hit, two RBI, one home run, one extra-base hit, one strikeout, .333 batting, .333 on base and 1.333 slugging.
In the first game of a doubleheader March 10 against Western Texas College in a 3-0 Lady Whitecap win, she had three at bats, one hit, one strikeout, .333 batting, .333 on base and .333 slugging; on defense, she had six putouts on six chances and 1.000 fielding.
In the second game, an 8-2 GC win, Vincik had four at bats, two hits, two RBI, one double, on extra-base hit, .500 batting, .500 on base and .750 slugging. In the field, she had three chances, three putouts and 1.000 fielding.
In the first game of a doubleheader against Paris Junior College on March 13, she had four at bats and one strikeout; in the field, she had 12 chances, 11 putouts, one assist and 1.000 fielding as GC won 7-0.
In the closer, Vincik had three at bats and one strikeout; in the field, she had three putouts and one assist on four chances for 1.000 fielding and took part in one double play; Lady Whitecaps lost 5-1.
In the opening game of a road doubleheader against Baton Rouge Community College on March 14, she had four at bats, two hits and one RBI for .500 batting, .500 on base and .500 slugging. In the field, she had five chances, five putouts and 1.000 fielding as GC lost 5-3.
In the second game, Vincik had three at bats, one hit, .333 batting, .333 on base and .333 slugging; in the field, she made seven putouts on seven chances for 1.000 fielding in the 4-1 loss for the Lady Whitecaps.
In the opener of a doubleheader March 16 against North Central Missouri College, she had three at bats, one hit, one RBI, one walk, two strikeouts, .333 batting, .500 on base and .333 slugging; in the field, she had eight chances, eight putouts and 1.000 fielding in a 7-0 Lady Whitecap win.
In the closing game, a 9-1 GC victory, Vincik had three at bats, one hit, two RBI, .333 batting, .333 on base and .333 slugging. In the field, she had seven putouts on seven chances and 1.000 fielding.
In the first game of a doubleheader March 18 against Lamar State College-Port Arthur, she had two at bats, one hit, one walk, .500 batting, .667 on base and .500 slugging. In the field, she had eight chances, seven putouts, one assist and 1.000 fielding as GC won 12-2.
The Lady Whitecaps lost 6-5 in the second game and Vincik had four at bats and two strikeouts at the plate; in the field, she had seven putouts and one assist on eight chances for 1.000 fielding and one stolen base allowed.
In the opener of a doubleheader March 20 against Louisiana State University Eunice, Vincik had 3 at bats, one hit, one RBI, one home run, one extra-base hit, .333 batting, .333 on base and 1.333 slugging; on defense, she had four chances, three putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, two stolen bases allowed, one runner caught stealing and .333 runner-caught stealing in the 15-7 GC loss.

In the second game, the Lady Whitecaps fell 17-9; at the plate, she had four at bats, two hits, four RBI, one double, one home run, two extra-base hits, .500 batting, .500 on base and 1.500 slugging.
In the opener of a March 25 doubleheader at Blinn College in a 5-1 GC win, she had three at bats, one hit, one double, one extra-base hit, one strikeout, .333 batting, .333 on base and .667 slugging; in the field, Vincik had five chances, five putouts and 1.000 fielding.
In the second game, an 11-4 win by Blinn, Vincik had three at bats, three putouts on three chances in the field with 1.000 fielding and three stolen bases allowed.
In the first game of a doubleheader March 28 against Alvin College, Vincik had four at bats, two hits, one RBI, one double, one extra-base hit, .500 batting, .500 on base and .750 slugging; in the field, she had six assists on six chances, 1.000 fielding and two stolen bases allowed in a 8-4 loss for GC.
In the second game, a 6-2 loss for the Lady Whitecaps, she had two at bats, one walk and .333 on base. On defense, she had 11 chances, eight putouts, three assists, 1.000 fielding, one stolen base allowed, two runners caught stealing and .667 runner-caught stealing.
In the opener of a doubleheader April 1 against Angelina College in which GC won 8-6, Vincik had four at bats; in the field, she had 10 chances, nine putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner-caught stealing.
In the second game, she had three at bats, one hit, .333 batting, .333 on base, .333 slugging, five chances in the field with five putouts and 1.000 fielding in a 9-6 win for the Lady Whitecaps.
In the opening game of a doubleheader at Coastal Bend College on March 8, Vincik had four at bats, one hit, .250 batting, .250 on base, .250 slugging; in the field, she had 16 chances, 15 putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner-caught stealing; GC won 3-2.
In the second game,  the Lady Whitecaps won 6-1 with Vincik getting four at bats, one hit, one RBI, one triple, one extra-base hit, .250 batting, .250 on base, .750 slugging and hit into one double play; in the field, she had eight putouts on eight chances for 1.000 fielding.
In the first game of a doubleheader April 11 at San Jacinto College-South, Vincik had four at bats, three hits, three RBI, one home run, one extra-base hit, .750 batting, .750 on base and 1.500 slugging. In the field, she had one putout on one chance for 1.000 fielding as GC won 9-6.
In the second game, a 10-2 loss for the Lady Whitecaps, Vincik had two at bats, one RBI and one strikeout; in the field, she had two putouts and one error in the field for .667 fielding.
In the first game of a doubleheader March 15 at Lamar State College-Port Arthur, a 9-2 win by the Lady Whitecaps, Vincik had five at bats, one hit, one RBI, one double, one extra-base hit, three strikeouts, .200 batting, .200 on base and .400 slugging; on defense, she had 14 chances, 13 putouts and one assist for 1.000 fielding.
In the second game, GC won 13-3 and she had four at bats, one hit, one RBI, one double, one extra-base hit, one strikeout, .250 batting, .250 on base and .500 slugging. In the field, she had  eight chances, seven putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, two stole bases allowed, one runner caught stealing and .333 runner-caught stealing.
In the first game of a doubleheader against Blinn College on April 25, Vincik had three at bats and in the field, had two chances, one putout, one error and .500 fielding in a 10-4 GC victory.
In the second game, she had three at bats, five chances, four putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one stolen base allowed, one runner caught stealing and .500 runner-caught stealing in the Lady Whitecaps’ 4-3 win.
In the first game of a doubleheader April 27 at Alvin College, Vincik had three at bats in a 3-0 GC loss.
In the second game, she again had three at bats as the Lady Whitecaps lost 2-1.

In the opener of a doubleheader May 2 at home to Coastal Bend College, Vincik had four at bats, two hits, two RBI, one double, one extra-base hit, one strikeout, .500 batting, .500 on base and .750 slugging. In the field, she had five chances, five putouts and 1.000 fielding in a 6-5 Lady Whitecaps win.
In the closer, a 12-4 GC win, she had three at bats, three hits, two RBI, one double, one home run, two extra-base hits, 1.000 batting, 1.000 on base and 2.333 slugging; in the field, she had one chance for one putout and 1.000 fielding.
In the opener of a doubleheader May 4 at Angelina College, she had five at bats, three hits, six RBI, one double, one home run, two extra-base hits, .600 batting, .600 on base and 1.400 slugging. On defense, she had seven chances, seven putouts and 1.000 fielding in the 14-4 Lady Whitecaps win.
In the second game, Vincik had four at bats, one hit, one RBI, .250 batting, .250 on base and .250 slugging. In the field, she had four putouts on four chances for 1.000 fielding as GC took a 14-5 win.
In the opener of a home doubleheader May 6 against San Jacinto College-South, she had three at bats, one hit, .333 batting, .333 on base, .333 slugging in a 10-0 loss for GC. In the field, Vincik had one chance, one putout, 1.000 fielding and one stolen base allowed. In the second game, a 5-4 loss for the Lady Whitecaps, she had four at bats, two hits, .500 batting, .500 on base and .500 slugging. In the field, she had four chances, three putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, one runner caught stealing and 1.000 runner-caught stealing.
In a 12-5 loss to Trinity Valley Community College on May 13 in the Region XIV Tournament in Houston, Vincik had three at-bats, one hit, two RBI, one double, one extra-base hit, .333 batting, .333 on base and .667 slugging. On defense, she had two chances, two putouts and 1.000 fielding.
In a 5-4 loss to Navarro College on May 14 in the regional tournament, she had two at bats, one hit, two walks, .500 batting, .750 on base and .500 slugging; in the field, she had eight putouts, one assist, 1.000 fielding, two stolen bases allowed, one runner caught stealing and .333 runner-caught stealing for her final action as a Lady Whitecap
Vincik batted in 52 games, 169 at-bats, 54 hits, 51 RBI, 11 walks, 12 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, 26 extra-base hits, .320 batting average, .365 on-base percentage, .633 slugging percentage, one hit by pitch, two hit into a double play and 181 plate appearances. In the field, she had 296 total chances, 265 putouts, 29 assists, two errors, .993 fielding, one double play, 43 stolen bases allowed, 19 runner caught stealing and .306 runner caught stealing percentage.
