Shiner football: Shiner district game at Charlotte canceled

For the second week in a row, the Shiner Comanches varsity football did not play a game.Due to not having enough healthy players to play a varsity game, the Charlotte Trojans forfeited the scheduled Oct. 11 game in Charlotte.

Moulton cross country: Kittens win district cross-country title

The Moulton cross-country team held the 30-1A district meet on Oct. 9 at the Moulton City Park.Varsity GirlsThe Kittens varsity won the district title by scoring 31 points with runner up Nordheim getting 46 points. They will compete in the regional meet.

SP hands Indianettes first district loss

At the start of the volleyball season, Sacred Heart head coach Wanda Orsak felt St. Paul would be the team to beat because of its experience.The Lady Cardinals swept the Indianette. 17,15,15 in the SP Gym Tuesday, Oct. 1.“We did not show up for that match,” Indianette head coach Wanda Orsak said.

LB lose to Yoakum, Industrial

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas were swept at home by Yoakum Friday afternoon, 15, 18, 18 in a District 25-AAA match Friday evening.The only highlight in the match was Alaina Halata reaching a milestone with her 1,000th career assist.Kasey Harper had eight kills in defeat.

Brahmas lose another tough one

Another great effort by the Hallettsville Brahmas did not equal a win.The Brahmas suffered a 28-20 tough loss to Rockport-Fulton before a sizeable Homecoming crowd here Friday night.The Brahmas (2-4) saw a 20-14 halftime lead dissipate in the 28-20 loss to the Pirates.
