Lone plane crash survivor returns to Yoakum

Sixteen months ago, the Yoakum community experienced a rare event: A small plane carrying five men from Tennessee crash landed in a field outside of town near FM 318.Four men died, sadly, but the lone survivor was able to crawl from the wreckage and call for help.

Monday a.m. accident sends one to hospital

A two-vehicle accident Monday morning at the intersection of Fourth and S. Texana streets sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.According to the Hallettsville Police Department, the accident took place around 7:30 a.m.

Two-vehicle head on crash sends two to the hospital

A two vehicle head-on collison at State Highway 111 E and FM 1447 between Yoakum and the Crossroads was reported on the morning of April 22. Traffic was delayed for about an hour. A call came in at 7:59 a.m. to the Yoakum Police Department regarding the accident.

Local woman loses life in two-vehicle crash

A young local woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash near Bryan on Sunday, March 24.According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Alyssa Schoeneman, 22, of Hallettsville was killed in the accident that took place on OSR, north of Bryan, around 11:20 a.m.

Truck hauling crushed cars crashes on I-10 Thursday

An 18-wheeler rollover along Interstate 10, just west of Flatonia, slowed traffic for several hours on Thursday morning, Nov. 30. The wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes near the rest stop about halfway between Flatonia and the Gonzales County Line.
