During the Christmas season, when it sparkles with decorative lights, you can see the old structure for miles; a shining beacon from the past, and yet the splendid old courthouse is still serving the people of Lavaca County, Texas.

Indianettes in lopsided win over Bracken Chrn.

By Chuck Grafe Sports Editor There are not many more adjectives left to describe the Sacred Heart Indianettes. The Indianettes cruised to another district victory in a 49-5 rout of Bulverde Bracken Christian School here Thursday night.

Henke named CCA Citizen of the Year; Defibaugh – Hospitality

The 91st Annual Hallettsville Chamber of Commerce and Agricultural Banquet was held Wednesday evening, Jan. 25 with Jeanette Henke named the 2022 Citizen of the Year.  Henke, was recognized by CCA treasurer Barb Koehn.

Keith Mudd sworn in as Lavaca County Judge

Powering Up the Pool 

GVEC recently donated a $20,000 Power Up Grant to the Lavaca Swimming Pool to help the local nonprofit wrap up its construction of its splash pad water park addition at the local swimming pool as well as make a few other improvements around the historic complex.
