Court votes to continue burn ban

Due to Veterans Day falling on Monday, the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court held its regular meeting Tuesday morning and decided to continue with a burn ban for the county.

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Wednesday morning, Oct. 16 and approved a proclamation declaring Oct. 14 through 18 as Chamber of Commerce Week for the City of Hallettsville.The meeting was held two days later than the normal Monday due to Oct.

National 4-H Week, Oct. 6-12

At the Monday, Sept. 23 Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court meeting, the court approved a proclamation designating Oct. 6 through 12 as National 4-H Week in Texas.

Court enacts second burn ban

As of Monday morning, Lavaca County is now under a burn ban.The burn ban was enacted at the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court meeting due to the recommendation of the Lavaca County Fire Chief’s’ Association.

Court enacts burn ban at Monday’s meeting

Due to the county’s Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) reading averaging above 500, the court approved the implementation of a burn ban at the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court Monday morning meeting.
