Council targets substandard buildings in city

The Moulton city council discussed several city ordinances and approved one of them at its regular monthly meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 12. The first ordinance, approved by council at the Dec. 12 meeting, dealt with substandard buildings and the abatement of those buildings.

Mark Zimmerman will remain as mayor for the city of Moulton, voters decided Saturday. That’s after facing off for the post with former councilman Donald Wagner for the city’s top elected post as the only contested race on the ballots.

City updates noise, junked car ordinances

With much of the groundwork already laid and details discussed as part of the city’s ongoing workshop meetings earlier this year, city attorney Eddie Escobar sought the council’s approval on his recent updates to two existing city ordinances in Moulton last month.
