The Moulton cross-country squads started their season Saturday in Yoakum at the Bulldog Invitational.Varsity Girls (1.49 miles)The Moulton varsity girls scored 154 points to place seventh.Ava Olivarez placed No. 13 to lead the Kittens, finishing in 10 minutes, 18.

State mandates Bible curriculum starting 2030

The Texas State Board of Education approved what could be a controversial new curriculum mandate that requires public school students to read and study Bible stories. This phased rollout will begin in 2030.

Moulton ISD starts new school year, Thursday, Aug. 13

Moulton ISD officially started this year’s school term with new staff members having workdays this Wednesday and Thursday and BTS workdays set for Aug. 7 through Aug. 12.Classes will begin on Thursday, Aug. 13 as MISD students return for the 2026-27 school year.

The Moulton Independent School District student and employee handbook are now ready to view. The board discussed this at the July 8 meeting.One significant revision in the student handbook involves early graduation and participation in senior activities.

Board discusses new bus law, swears in Luksovsky

A new Texas law has passed stating that by 2029, every school district must have seat belts on their buses.This is a part of Senate Bill 546 which requires all Texas school buses to be equipped with three-point seat belts by Sept. 1, 2029.

Moulton track and field: Ja’Michael Williams wins high jump, Audrey Swinford gets silver in discus to lead track and field at state

The Moulton track and field teams won three overall medals in the 1A division of the UIL state track and field meet on Saturday.GirlsThe Kittens tied for No. 22 with 10 points. Audrey Swinford was second in the discus with a long throw of 122 feet, 11 inches. She also threw 120-7, 112-8 and  71-8.
