Moulton cheerleading: Cheer camp registration is open

Registration is currently open for the Moulton Min-Cheer Camp which will be held July 15-17 at the MISD Gymnasium.The camp is for athletes ages 4-12 and the campers will learn the basics of cheerleading in fun and interactive sessions taught by the Moulton High School cheerleaders.

Moulton softball: Softball camp for youth players June 18-20

Moulton softball will hold the Youth Kitten’s Softball Camp June 18-20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Moulton Little League Softball/Baseball Field.The camp will be for players in grades 3-8 and will cover the fundamentals of hitting, base running, fielding and team play. Shirt and snacks are included.

Moulton softball: Slocum ends Kittens’ historical softball run

The historical run of the Kittens softball team came to end Saturday in the regional-final series against Slocum in Mumford.The Kittens had little offense in game one, falling 15-1 before getting a little more in the second game but still coming up short 11-4.Moulton finishes with a 14-11 record.

Moulton softball: Kittens sweep Leakey, play Slocum in regional final

Moulton swept Leakey 7-3 and 3-2 in the regional semifinals last week in Poteet.The Kittens will continue their historical playoff run with a matchup against Slocum in the regional final.Game one will be today at 6 p.m. Game two will be Saturday at 4 and game three, if needed, will follow game two.

MISD employees could see insurance increase

Teachers and staff members at Moulton ISD may be seeing an 8% increase in employee insurance.This was discussed at the May 1 school board meeting. Currently, there are 51 employes who are utilizing the school’s insurance. The district pays $273,000 for the total employees.

Moulton girls track and field: Tinajero gets seventh in the 400

Abygail Tinajero came within 0.44 seconds of getting a medal at the UIL state track meet in Austin on Saturday.She finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.83 to place fourth while the third-place finisher, Hailee Garmer of Roby, was clocked at 59.39.
