June recipients of the Moulton High School Katz and Kittens Award of Excellence were sophomore Stefanie Colchado, who placed third at the state track meet in the 3200m run and finished seventh in the 1600m.

With the awful images of Uvalde still fresh on everyone’s minds, both Shiner and Moulton school board members took a good hard look at ways they could improve their respective campus safety and security measures when they met for their regularly monthly meetings this month.

Moulton ISD announced Friday, June 17, that Victoria Nieto Ortiz was hired to fill the vacancy at the elementary campus, which opened when current principal April Simper resigned her post to the MISD board of directors at their regular monthly business meeting held earlier this month.

MISD accepting painting bids

Moulton ISD is accepting bids for painting at the school’s Administration Building.  The area to be painted is three rooms, about 1,312 square feet. Paint will be supplied by the district.

Several Moulton Kittens softball players made the 29-1A All-District team. Senior Emily Perry was named Most Valuable Player; junior Hope Kirkland was named Offensive Player of the Year and sophomore Madalyn Brock was chosen as Defensive Player o the Year.

Moulton Track and FIeld: Colchado places third in the two mile at state

The Moulton Bob Kittens track team had two athletes in three events last Saturday at the state track meet in Austin, bringing home one medal. Estefania Colchado earned the Bronze in the 3,200-meter run with a final time of 12 minutes, 19.28 seconds and this was also a personal record for her.
