Moulton girls basketball: JH girls win last game of season 54-7

The Moulton Junior High Kittens wrapped up their season with a 54-7 win over Prairie Lea on Feb. 5. Moulton outscored Prairie Lea 19-0 and 12-0 in the first two quarters. The Kittens went on an 18-3 run in the third frame and scored five of six points in the fourth frame.

Moulton boys basketball: Katz hand Waelder 18-point defeat in front of packed house

The Moulton boys basketball team and all of their fans worked together to take on rival Waelder on Friday. Trent Meisetschleager handed in 14 points, and Seth Lopez and Landon Chaloupka each recorded 11 points as the Katz rolled to a 50-32 win.

Moulton girls basketball: Kittens play their style in rout of Waelder

With the playoffs on the horizon, the Moulton Kittens look to play their style of basketball to end district. The Kittens pounded rival Waelder Lady Wildcats 55-10 behind 14 points by Audrey Swinford and another 11 points by Addison Simper.

Moulton basketball: Basketball district remains mostly unchanged

The Kittens and Katz had one change to their basketball district 30-1A for 2024-2026 following the recent UIL realignment. Matagorda joins the district to replace departing Pettus. The district will also contain Austwell-Tivoli, Nordheim, Prairie Lea, Runge and Waelder.

Ava Olivarez scored 23 points and Zurely Vasquez contributed 10 points as the Moulton junior high Kittens scored half a hundred and held Nordheim to five points.

Moulton boys basketball: Carlos Trevino scores a dozen in JH boys win at Nordheim

Carlos Trevino bagged 12 points with Greyson Anderle and Andrew Pierce scoring 10 points each to pace Moulton junior high boys to a 45-8 win at Nordheim on Monday. Moulton took a 19-2 lead in the first quarter and outscored Nordheim 16-0 in the second period.

Moulton boys basketball: JH Kats see off Runge 40-12

The Moulton junior high boys got off to a good start Thursday in Runge with a 15-0 run in the opening quarter and took a 40-12 win. The Katz led 24-7 at halftime, outscored Runge 9-1 in the third frame and 10-4 in the fourth quarter.

Moulton girls basketball: Ava Olivarez scores 28 points in junior high girls’ win

Ava Olivarez poured in 28 points as the Moulton junior high Kittens ripped apart Runge 60-5 on Thursday in Runge. The Kittens outscord Runge 37-2 in the first half and cumulatively outscored Runge 23-3 in the second half.

Moulton girls basketball: Kittens beat Runge, Austwell-Tivoli

The girls basketball team picked up two more district wins last week. Moulton 52, Runge 20 Audrey Swinford put in 21 points and Addison Simper contributed 13 points to lead Moulton girls to a 52-20 win at Runge Jan. 26.
