Shiner Catholic School alumni Atley Pilat recently graduated from the Victoria Fire Academy and passed all his required state tests.  He is now a certified EMT and fire fighter.  Congratulations, Atley. You make your hometown proud!

Extremely dry weather, drought and the potential fire hazard conditions combined to help city and county leaders to arrive at a unified decision to cancel the 2022 Shiner Half Moon Holidays fireworks display.

This year’s winners and finalists at the Shiner Chamber of Commerce’s Royalty Pageant were:  • Miss Shiner—Julia Machacek, winner; Megan Winkenwerder, first runner-up; and Mackenzie Peebles (not pictured), second runner-up.

With the awful images of Uvalde still fresh on everyone’s minds, both Shiner and Moulton school board members took a good hard look at ways they could improve their respective campus safety and security measures when they met for their regularly monthly meetings this month.
