St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cards discover some rotations in 3-1 win over FHS

In their home opener against Flatonia, the St. Paul volleyball team invested in a good rotation that paid dividends.The Lady Cardinals defeated Flatonia 25-17. 22-25, 25-18, 25-12 Aug. 19.“I was really pleased with it,” St. Paul head coach Max Bergkamp said.
The Lady Cardinals took first place in the Silver bracket at the San Marcos Hill Country Tournament while displaying their brand-new uniforms. Kneeling is Riley Mozisek. St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals win silver bracket at SMHC tourney

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals won the Silver bracket of the San Marcos Hill Country Tournament Friday and Saturday, posting a record of three wins, two ties and one loss.Friday Pool PlaySt. Paul tied two and lost one match in the pool  play to advance to the Silver bracket on Saturday.St.

Shiner, St. Paul football: Cards, Comanches play first scrimmages

Both Shiner football teams were on the road last week for the first scrimmages. St. Paul traveled to Bloomington and the Comanches were at Tidehaven.St. Paul at BloomingtonHead coach Barry Wolf said his thoughts immediately after the scrimmage were that the Cardinals had not played well.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals earn second place at Yorktown tourney

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals volleyball posted a 4-1 record and placed  second in the Yorktown Tournament Friday and Saturday. St. Paul played two district opponents, Victoria Faith Academy and Hallettsville Sacred Heart in the tournament.

Shiner Catholic School alumni Atley Pilat recently graduated from the Victoria Fire Academy and passed all his required state tests.  He is now a certified EMT and fire fighter.  Congratulations, Atley. You make your hometown proud!

Jacob Heck to split time between county's Catholic school bands

There’s a new leader of the band coming to Shiner Catholic Schools, and turns out, he’s the same fellow who helped lead the Sacred Heart Indian Band to the school’s highest point finish ever (405 points), earning them the runners-up title at last year’s TAPPS State Band Championship for Class 2A.

Catholic School work camp offers more than just a hard day’s work

What do you get when you take 60 kids, give them 18 separate work projects and then send them forth, all over town, on three of the hottest days yet this year to get it all done? Well, the answer to that question depends entirely on two items, really.

Texas State Senator recognizes Cardinal, Comanche state championships

Texas State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst  came to Shiner at the end of April to present several Shiner and St. Paul sports team with proclamations recognizing their respective state championships.
