A time to honor our military veterans

By Murray Montgomery Staff Writer / Op-ed It is right and praiseworthy that we have a special day to honor veterans of our nation’s armed forces. While Memorial Day is a tribute to all those who have died in action, Veterans Day salutes all those who have served in the military – living and dead.

By Murray Montgomery Staff Writer The First American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Republic of China Air Force, nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was formed to help oppose the Japanese invasion of China. Their Curtiss P-40B Warhawk aircraft, marked with Chinese colors, flew under American control.
