Shiner pharmacy falls prey to scammers

Beware of scammers! The Shiner Police Department recently received a report from the Shiner Chamber of Commerce regarding a fraudulent membership application from a fake business claiming to be a pharmaceutical company in Shiner.

Shiner Veterans War Memorial gets new additions

Members of the American Legion Post 201, Shiner VFW Post 6209 and the City of Shiner have made some new additions and amendments to the Shiner Veterans War Memorial at Green-Dickson Park. They added new bronze insignias representing the six branches of the US Armed Forces.

Flag Pole in City Park gets Face Lift

In a brief agenda, DeWitt County Commissioners presented a distinguished service award certificate to the Texas Historical Commission at the May 30 meeting.“The Historical Commission promotes a positive image to our county,” Judge Daryl Fowler said in a letter.

HVFD battles house fire

The Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department answered to a house fire on Thursday afternoon, May 30, which resulted in an estimated $55 thousand in property and content loss.According to HVFD chief Steven Grahmann, the department was called to a structure fire located at 2953 FM 957.
