YEDC discusses IP2 update, reimburses grant

The Yoakum Economic Development Corporation discussed Industrial Park II updates and reimbursed a grant at the April 16 meeting.YEDC recently received a disaster supplement grant towards IP2 in the amount of $2.5 million.

Two-vehicle head on crash sends two to the hospital

A two vehicle head-on collison at State Highway 111 E and FM 1447 between Yoakum and the Crossroads was reported on the morning of April 22. Traffic was delayed for about an hour. A call came in at 7:59 a.m. to the Yoakum Police Department regarding the accident.

Shiner Chamber float to attend Fiesta parade this Saturday

Let’s Fiesta 2024! Miss Shiner and the Shiner Royal Court will travel to San Antonio this weekend to participate in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade. The parade will be televised, Saturday, April 27 on KSAT 12 and begins around 7:30 p.m.

'March to the Brazos'

The March to the Brazos is an 18 mile march to A&M’s Riverside Campus from main campus and is a symbolic passing of positions in the Cadet Corps. Yackel, who is heading into his junior year, is a graduate of St. Paul High School.
