Lavaca County 4-H Recordbook participants Stand Out at District

Lavaca County was well represented at the District 11 4-H Recordbook Competition on Thursday, July 13. Fourteen members who placed first in the county competition in June advanced their books to District. On the district level, the top three books in each category by age division were placed.

21st Annual CHS Miss Texas Czech-Slovak Queen Pageant held July 22

The 21st Annual Czech Heritage Society Miss Texas Czech-Slovak Queen Pageant 2023 and the 1st Annual CHS Texas Youth Royalty Pageant 2023 hosted by the Lavaca County Chapter were held at the KC Hall in Hallettsville on Saturday, July 22.

Shiner students attend Boys and Girls State

Delegates for the 2023 American Legion Boys State and Girls State were Nate Boedeker and Faith Machart from St. Paul High School, and Kyle Muehlstein and Charlotte Grosenbacher from Shiner High School. Boys State was held at UT in Austin and Girls State was held at TLU in Seguin, both in June.
The 2022 Moulton Royalty—including Junior Miss Moulton Valeria Pinedo, Little Mr. Moulton Lincoln Perez, Miss Moulton Kaylee Trejo, Young Miss Moulton Annabelle Ischy, and Little Miss Moulton Annabelle Montemayor—bid farewell to their year-long reign on Sunday at the 2023 Royalty Pageant. Moulton’s young ambassadors represented the community at various events including the annual awards banquet, Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Trunk or Treat where they collected canned goods for the needy.
