Lavaca County EMS recently announced it is now able to carry and administer low-tier O-positive whole blood in the field, allowing paramedics to begin blood transfusions before a patient arrives at the hospital. The advancement significantly improves survival chances for patients experiencing severe traumatic hemorrhage. Blood Donation Awareness Month highlights critical need as EMS brings whole blood to trauma centers
Progress continues on the building outside of the baseball field that will serve as a concession stand with restrooms for the baseball field as well as the new softball field. The building will also have a storage area for equipment for multiple sports including football and track equipment. Project completion is expected this March.
