Robert Earle Ritz Sr.

Robert Earle Ritz Sr., 90, of Conroe, passed away on October 19, 2022 of natural causes at his home in Conroe. He was born on May 5, 1932, in Shiner, to John and Emma Ritz. Early in his life, Robert served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mike C. Jakubek

Mike C. Jakubek passed away on Saturday, Dec.  31, 2022 in Houston at the age of 71. He was born on Oct. 3, 1951. Mike is survived by his brother, Jim (Bea) Jakubek of Hallettsville; nephew, Brian Jakubek of Pflugerville;  nieces, Susan Jakubek of Hallettsville and Julie (Jorge) Cantu of Buda.

Hilmer R. Galetka

Hilmer R. Galetka, 95, of Hallettsville, passed away, Wednesday,  Dec. 21, 2022.  He was born n Hallettsville on Sept. 25, 1927, to John and Theresa Mikush Galetka. He attended Boethel School and Baldwin’s Business College. Hilmer enlisted on Jan.

Donald Clyde Adams Sr.

Donald Clyde Adams Sr., 90, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022.  He was born on Oct.  5, 1932 to Mary Evelyn “Margie” Goode and Carl Adams of Louise.

Rosemary Ellis

Rosemary Ellis, 55, of Hallettsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022.  She was born on Dec.  17, 1967, to Jacinto and Natalla Reyes Rios Sr. in Gonzales. Rosemary is survived by one son; two daughters; her mother; three brothers; three sisters, and one granddaughter.

Florene Hybner

Florene Hybner, 81, joined her heavenly family Sunday, January 1, 2023. Visitation will be held at Shiner Funeral Home starting at 4 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, in Sts.

Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey

Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey was born Aug. 4, 1947  in Hallettsville, to Edgar and Millie (Elstner) Appelt. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Donna was a very talented person and love to quilt, knit, and paint. She always had many projects going.

Janie (Buzek) Wolf

Janie (Buzek) Wolf, 67, of Hallettsville, joined her heavenly family on Dec. 12, 2022, while at Houston Methodist Hospital after a short battle with cancer.  She was born July 23, 1955, in Hallettsville to Victor and Leona (Gerlich) Buzek.

Vernon Eugene Duty Sr.

Vernon Eugene Duty Sr., 75, of Hallettsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.  He was born on Aug. 11, 1947, to Robert B. and Charlotte Williford Duty, in Houston.  After high school he joined the Navy.

Susan Hohmann

Susan Arlene Short Hohmann, 66, a longtime resident of Wimberley, passed away on October 30, 2022 after a valiant struggle with heart failure. Funeral services were held on November 7, 2022 in Austin, with the Rev. Herb Beyer officiating.
