St. Paul cross country: It’s coming home! Lady Cards win state CC title

The 2A TAPPS girls cross country state title has come back home to Shiner.The Lady Cardinals took first overall with 48 points and runner up Bryan St. Joseph scored 75 points Monday afternoon at Waco’s Cottonwood Golf Course.

Shiner volleyball:Shiner JVP spikers win 15 of 16 matches

The Shiner Junior Varsity Purple volleyball team finished the season with a record of 15-1 and closed out the seasons with wins over Louise (25-12, 25-11), Schulenburg, (25-27, 25-20, 15-12) and Flatonia (25-20, 25-18).

St. Paul volleyball: district champs- Lady Cards capture crown

The St. Paul Cardinals officially wrapped up the TAPPS 2A-District 5 volleyball title on Oct. 22.St. Paul swept Victoria Faith Academy 25-10, 25-5 and 25-17.The margins of victory and St. Paul’s team performance exceeded that of the match at Faith Academy on Oct. 3.

Shiner volleyball:Shiner spikers notch home wins against Ganado, Flatonia

With the playoffs starting next week, the Shiner volleyball team is starting to hit its stride.Shiner earned two district wins last week, an intense 3-1 win against Flatonia and a sweep of Ganado, both at home.

Shiner football: Shiner blanks Pettus 50-0

The Shiner Comanches put 35 points on the board in the first 12 minutes Friday at Pettus and rolled to a 50-0 win, their first scoreboard shutout of the season and are now 5-3 (3-0) including a forfeit win over Charlotte.

Moulton cross country: Kittens, Colchado qualify for state

The Moulton cross-country team will be sending several athletes to the state meet this Saturday in Round Rock, following their performances at the regional meet in Corpus Christi on Oct. 22.Varsity GirlsThe Kittens will compete at the state meet as a team after placing fourth with 190 points.

St. Joseph Catholic School (SJS) played against St. Michael-Weimar Oct. 17: 25-21 and 25-12.Haley Ratley had 7 points and 6 aces.Ximena Salazar made 1 point.Heidi Barrera garnered 2 points and 1 ace.Faith Boysen contributed 7 points and 3 aces.Tealy Wilson had 1 point.

Bulldogs unable to catch Columbus in 56-38 loss

The Yoakum Bulldogs were on the road this past Friday to take on Class 3A Division I's number one ranked team, the Columbus High Cardinals.The Cardinals were able to jump out to a 42-8 halftime lead before the Bulldogs would come charging back in the second half of the game.
