Major League Girls eke out 2-1 win over Refugio County

The Hallettsville Major League softball All-Stars pretty much had things their way in tournament play up until Monday evening in the Section IV Tournament.The All-Stars had to dig deep to pull out a 2-1 victory over Refugio County at Crane Field Monday evening.

Shiner softball: Shiner softball trio win Super Elite awards

A trio of Shiner Lady Comanche softball players were chosen for the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) 2023-2024 Super Elite Team for Class 2A.Senior Paeden Vincik was selected as Most Valuable Player.Sophomore Lauren Springfield was selected as Pitcher of the Year.

Shiner softball: Henneke closes out UHV softball career

Shiner grad Cameron (Cowan) Henneke closed out her University of Houston-Victoria softball season by appearing in over 20 games in the 2024 season.Her first action came in the season opener on Feb. 9 in the LSU-Alexandria Tournament against William Carey (Mississippi) in a 2-1 UHV win.

Major League Boys District 31 Champs

CUERO – The Hallettsville All Stars swept the best-of-three series with a 9-0 victory over New Braunfels Monday night.Myles Kalmus started on the bump and was the winning pitcher. He threw 4.1 innings allowing no hits, walked six and recorded four strikeouts.Charles Strode went 1.

10U Softball District 31 Champions

The Hallettsville 10U All Stars came from one game down in the best-of-three to defeat Seguin 18-8 and clinch the District 31 championship here Monday night. No particulars were received from this game.Hallettsville forced a third game with an 8-2 victory here Sunday night.

In an all Hallettsville final, Red defeats White for East Zone Title

CUERO – In an all Hallettsville final, Hallettsville Red defeated Hallettsville White, 17- 5, in four innings Saturday to win the District East Zone Major League championship.The Reds hit four home runs in the contest.

Major League Softball wins District 31 Championship

CUERO – The Hallettsville Major League girls defeated Shiner, 9-2, Saturday to clinch the District 31 championship.Paelyn Etzler pitched a two-hitter and struck out seven. Etzler retired the first seven batters she faced before walking Patricia Price in the third inning.

Shiner Little League: LL softball teams get second in district tournaments

Shiner Little League Minor and Major softball and baseball teams played in their International District 31 East Zone Tournament June 15 through Saturday.Minor teams played in Hallettsville and the tournament site of the Majors was Cuero.
