The Sacred Heart Indians will begin workouts in preparation for the 2024 football season Monday, Aug. 5.Coach Alex Seydler, in his second year as Indian taskmaster, said he expects around 37 players for the first day.The Indians will work out from 7-10 a.m. until school starts Aug. 8.

The Hallettsville Brahmas begin workouts for the 2024 season Monday and coach Levi Montgomery expects 65 or so kids.The Brahmas will work out from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, Tuesday Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

NEW BRAUNFELS – The Hallettsville Minor League All-Stars were eliminated by West University, 16-1, Monday evening.West University scored nine first-inning runs and also used five Hallettsville errors in the three-inning game.

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas dominated 25-AAA softball and also dominated the all-district team.Three Lady Brahmas were gained MVP honors. Macie Jansky was the overall MVP, Carson Jansky offensive MVP and Kaylie Olivarez defensive MVP.
