Moulton girls track: Abygail Tinajero runs the 400 at state Saturday evening

Abygail Tinajero will attempt to win a medal in the 400-meter dash on Saturday at the UIL state track and field meet at the University of Texas’s Mike A. Meyers Stadium. She is scheduled to  run  around 6:45 p.m.

Moulton softball: Kittens run rule D’Hanis in bi-district round

The Moulton softball team pulled away from D’Hanis in the bi-district round Thursday at Marion with a nine-run fourth inning for a 14-3 win.

YHS Bulldog Baseball Team ends season with win against Cowboys

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Bulldogs Baseball Team concluded the 2024 season with a 4-0 win against Edna at Parents Night April 23 at home.The Bulldogs scored one run in the first inning and brought in three across the plate in the fourth frame.

State track and field athletes to compete Thursday

Jayana Phil - lips, Jayla Hessler, Chase Polk, and the girls and boys 400-meter relay teams, and the boys 800-relay team will compete in the UIL state meet tomorrow (Thursday) at University of Texas’s Mike A. Meyers Stadium.Phillips will compete in the long jump at 9 a.m.

YHS Lady Bulldog Softball Team wins bi-district, headed to area playoffs

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs beat Tidehaven 7-5 in a playoff for third place on April and then beat Nixon 12-2 on April 26 in the bi-district round.Yoakum will face Jourdanton in the area round in a best-of-three-series. Game one will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in Jourdanton.

Brahmas 7th after first round

USTIN – The Hallettsville Brahmas stood in seventh place after the first round of the UIL State Golf Tournament Monday at Grey Rock Golf Club.The Brahmas shot a team total of 354. Liberty led the pack with a 308, Bowie was second (319) and Brock third (320).

Indianettes third at TAPPS Regional

SEGUIN – Elena Grahmann had another good day at the TAPPS South Regional Track Meet at Matador Stadium Friday.The Indians finished third in the meet. St. Paul won first and Bryan St. Joseph second.Grahmann won the long jump, triple jump and ran a leg on three relays.
