LEAGUE CITY – The Sacred Heart Indians are 6-0 for the first time since Rover was a pup. The Indians slayed Clear Lake Bay Area Christian, 35-13, on its home soil Friday night.

Homecoming can always be a distraction, but it didn’t seem to bother the Hallettsville Brahmas in a 42-17 victory over Cypress Christian here Friday night. Hallettsville played its “cleanest” game of the season with zero turnovers and just one penalty.

The Yoakum Bulldogs get an intense start to district as they host Hitchcock at 7:30 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium. Hitchcock (also the Bulldogs) went undefeated in non-district, which includes a 43-36 win over 2ADI powerhouse Refugio.

Yoakum cross-country ran at the Luling Sandia City Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs got runner up in the varsity race. Varsity Girls (2 miles) The Lady Bulldogs scored 45 points, nine points behind winners San Antonio Great Hearts Northern Oaks.

The Moulton cross-country team competed in the Luling Sandia City Invitational on Saturday. Varsity Girls (2 miles) The Kittens placed fourth with 70 points. Estefania Colchado led the pack with ninth place in 13 minutes, 37.60 seconds. Karsyn Blahuta was No. 12 in 13:52.

The St. Paul and Shiner cross-country teams gathered in Gonzales to compete in the Gonzales Invitational on Saturday. St. Paul Varsity Girls The Lady Cardinals scored 95 points for a fourth-place finish in the girls varsity race. Kristin Cerny led St. Paul with fourth place in 12 minutes, 54.
