St. Paul baseball: Indians score walk-off run to edge Cardinals 3-2

Sacred Heart’s K. Valcho hit a flyball to Zeke Rodriguez, scoring K. Chance for the walkoff run in St. Paul’s 3-2 loss to the Indians Thursday in Hallettsville. Sacred Heart scored twice in the opening inning and the Cardinals rallied to tie the game at 2-2 with two runs plated in the third frame.

St. Paul softball: Lady Cardinals thrash VFA

The Lady Cardinals softball team scored a dozen runs in the first inning April 17 at Victoria Faith Academy and went on to a 22-0 win. St. Paul scored seven runs in the second box and a trio of runs in the third square. Hailey Radicke worked in the circle with no-hit shutout with seven strikeouts.

SLE boys softball: SLE boys softball wins Hallettsville tournament

The 5th and 6th grade boys softball team from Shiner St. Ludmila won their second tournament of the season at Hallettsville on April 15.

St. Paul softball: Lady Cards finish season series with SH

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals started their season series on April 5 in Shiner. That game reached middle of the sixth inning before being suspended due to weather. The bottom of the sixth inning was played on Thursday in Hallettsville before the scheduled St. Paul at Hallettsville.

Shiner baseball: Comanches beat WHS 7-3

The Shiner Comanches, with a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the third, scored four runs to pull away from Weimar and won 7-3. Drew Wenske and Landyn Pohler each had one home run, and Ryan Peterson and Bryce Nerada got a double.

Shiner softball: Shiner wins at 3A Marion

Addy Siegel got four hits, two doubles, brought in two runs and scored three to lead Shiner to a 14-4 win over Marion April 18 in Marion as the Lady Comanches began preparing for the upcoming playoffs.

St. Paul baseball: Cards see off BC in first round

St. Paul produced a solid performance in their bi-district game over Baytown Christian on Monday. Cardinals head coach Charlie Mieschen said St. Paul did a good job of taking care business and would like to correct a few miscues before the next playoff game which is set for the end of this week.

Shiner golf:Shiner girls advance to state

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team created some school history as they finished in second place at regionals April 17-18 in Corpus Christi and will be attending the state golf tournament for the first time in school history as a team.
