Shiner girls basketball: Columbus sinks Lady Comanches

Rylee Vancura, Morgan Lenehan and the rest of Lady Comanches basketball had a good task of facing Columbus and their 6-1 post Ally Tribe. Tribe scored 16 points to lead Columbus to a 52-37 win over Shiner Dec. 6 at Shiner. Vancura and Lenehan led Shiner with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardnal All-District award winners

Several Lady Cardinals received TAPPS 2A-5 All-District volleyball awards. Senior Ashlyn Pesek and sophomore Dallyn Pesek received First Team awards. Juniors Faith Machart and Emily Stamport got Second Team. The Lady Cardinals finished 2022 as bi-district finalists.

The Lady Comanches went 4-0 last week in the Karnes City Tournament to bring home the championship. Morgan Lenehan was named the Tournament MVP while Rylee Vancura, Callie Sevcik and Brooke Palmer were named to the All-Tournament Team.
