A pair of Shiner Lady Comanche softball players received special awards in the 29-2A All-District Team. Freshman infielder Brinley Ramirez was named Newcomer of the Year; sophomore pitcher/catcher/infielder Paeden Vincik was selected as Utility Player of the Year.

Shiner head softball coach Jason Keller and several Lady Comanche players held softball camp for players incoming grades 1-8 June 6-8 at the high school softball field at Green-Dickson Park.

Klekar achieves tri-fecta at UIL state tournaments

One could say, Robert Klekar, a softball umpire for the past 12 years, reached the tri-fecta this past Wednesday when he was part of an umpiring crew at the University Interscholastic League (UIL)  state softball tournament.

Shiner baseball: Comanches relishing return trip to state

The Shiner Comanches baseball team’s hard work and effort this season has paid off with a back-to-back trips to the state tournament. Shiner (33-0) will play in the UIL Class 2A state semifinals against Garrison (31-7-1)  at 7 p.m. at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
Several Lavaca County teams competed in the Beach-To-Bay Relay Marathon on May 20 in Corpus Christi. In the Open Women Division, Pretty Fast For a Phat Girl came in No. 18 in 4 hours, 36.38 minutes and Shiner Blondes was No. 96 in 4:37:51. In the Masters Men and Women Division, Shiner Stuff was seventh in 4:40.45. in 3 Men and 3 Women Division, Shiner 6 Pack was No. 71 Photo courtesy of Kristi Koudelka Bludau.
