VICTORIA — Of nine players that saw the court for the Lady Cardinals, eight scored and the whole available roster made contributions.McKinley Jacobs scored 12 points, Kristin Cerny netted 11 points and Riley Mozisek bagged 10 points in the St. Paul’s 65-17 win at Victoria Faith Academy Friday.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner boys hang on for 48-46 win over Flatonia

Trailing 48-46 and having an inbound on Shiner’s side after a timeout with 2.48 seconds left, Flatonia appeared to threaten.Until Landen Christensen managed to get a very crucial steal to run out the clock and preserve Shiner’s lead and the sweep over Flatonia for the season on Jan. 27 in Shiner.

Shiner football: Comanches win more post-season awards

The Shiner Comanches had several players selected for the Padilla Poll Coaches 2025 2ADII All-State Football Team.Making the First Team Offense were senior linemen Jacob Nerada, junior running back Quincy Jones, junior running back Clayton Fric and sophomore quarterback Jarvis Williams.

Lady Brahmas start district 0-1-1

The Lady Brahmas began district play with a 0-1-1 record.The LB tied Columbus 4-4 in Columbus Monday, Jan. 19.In a match here Thursday, Rice Consolidated scored with 1:10 remaining in the second half for a 3-2 victory. Avery Woodring had both goals for Hallettsville.

’Nettes collect two district wins

Wins have been hard to come by for the Sacred Heart Indianettes, but they collected two victories TAPPS District 5 Division victories when it counted.The Indianettes dismantled Victoria Faith Academy 48-9 here Friday to move to 2-1 in district play.

SH drops 61-53 decision to Cougars

Sacred Heart started well in its TAPPS District 5, Division 4 game here Friday in the 61-53 loss to Victoria Faith Academy here Friday.The Indians had a 22- 20 lead at the end of the first period before a 17-5 second quarter led to a 37-27 Cougar halftime lead.

Brahmas lose to Rice, Yoakum

The Hallettsville Brahmas let one slip away in a 65- 55 loss to Rice Consolidated in Altair Tuesday, Jan. 20.The Brahmas hit five of their first eight shots from the field in taking a 13-4 lead early in the first quarter before the Raiders came back to whittle the lead to 15-14 at period’s end.
