St. Paul volleyball: Sweep of SH gives Lady Cardinals back-to-back district championships

HALLETTSVILLE —  The Lady Cardinals volleyball team confirmed their district championship with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-12) win at Hallettsville Sacred Heart Thursday.The Lady Cardinals have now won two straight district crowns.

St. Paul football: St. Paul loses to SH, 27-20, as last-second comeback falls short

Having just scored to get within one point of Sacred Heart later in the game, St. Paul took a big chance.And it appeared to have some what of a return but the Indians survived to take a 27-20 win, their third straight in the series, Friday night at Comanche Stadium.St.

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas 25-15, 25- 14, 25-17 sweep of Edna here Friday evening shows how far the Lady Brahmas have come.Hallettsville edged Edna 3-2 in Edna Sept. 16. Also, Hallettsville downed Yoakum 3-0 after defeating them 3-2 here Sept. 9.

Indians lose tough District opener

The Sacred Heart Indians went to Bryan Friday night and almost stole one.The Indians, a decisive underdog according to one poll, left everything on the field in a 14-6 loss to Bryan Brazos Christian Friday night in the District 2 Division IV opener for both teams.

Hitchcock 34, Hallettsville 7

With realignment on the horizon in February, the Hallettsville Brahmas hope they will never have to play Hitchcock again.The Bulldogs took a 34-7 victory here Friday night in the District 12, Division I opener here Friday night.

Shiner football: Shiner Subvarsity Football report

Shiner won all three subvarsity-football contests last week.Shiner JV 28, Flatonia 8Levi Warner ran for two touchdowns, threw for one and  a two-point play to lead the Junior Varsity Comanches to a 28-8 win over Flatonia Thursday.
