St. Paul baseball: Cards nine beat Baytown Christian, fall to Bellville Faith Academy in playoffs

BELLVILLE — A four-run fourth inning and three-run seventh inning helped St. Paul baseball get past the bi-district hurdle.St. Paul defeated Baytown Christian 14-2 April 22 at Bellville Faith Academy.

St Paul track and field: St. Paul girls place third at regional meet; boys get third

SEGUIN — The St. Paul girls track team got second place and the boys came in third Friday at the TAPPS 2A/3A south regional meet at Seguin ISD”s Matador Stadium.St. Paul will have 13 athletes at the state meet later this week in Waco.GirlsThe Lady Cardinals scored 107 points to take the team silver.

Moulton track and field: Moulton TF state meet schedule

The Moulton track and field team will have one relay team and two athletes in individual events Saturday at the UIL State Meet at University of Texas’s Mike A. Meyers Stadium. Mina Tinajero  will compete in the long jump and Audrey Swinford will throw the shot put around 9 a.m.

Kittens 400 relay team, Tinajero and Swinford advance to state

The Moulton track and field teams had several athletes compete at the Region IV-1A meet Friday and Saturday in SeguinThe Kittens placed sixth with 36 points with qualifications to state in one relay event and two field events.

Lady Bulldogs beat Lady Cobras, come up short to Lady Brahmas

The softball team lost to Tidehaven and beat Edna to split the last two district games before stomping Industrial in playoff-seeding game.TIDEHAVEN 9, YOAKUM 4Tidehaven outscored the Lady Bulldogs 5-1 in the fourth inning to get them to a 9-4 win April 11 in Tidehaven.

Track and field qualifies for state

Both Yoakum girls and boys regional track teams placed third at the regional meet Friday and Saturday in Seguin. The Lady Bulldogs placed third with 54 points. Gracei Martinez placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes, 26.4 seconds.

Brahmas compete in Regional Golf

VICTORIA - The Hallettsville Brahmas competed in the Class 3A Region IV Golf Tournament Wednesday and Thursday at the Victoria Country Club.The Brahmas shot a 743 - 383 Wednesday and 360 Thursday.

Gold rush

SEGUIN – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas and Brahmas combined for four gold medals at the Class 3A Region IV Track and Field Meet at Seguin High School Thursday and Friday at Seguin High School.The top two finishers will advance to the state meet May 1 in Austin.
