Brahmas win season opener, 11-1

Hudson Chenard gave up no hits in three innings of work in the Hallettsville Brahmas’ 11-1 season-opening victory over Shiner here Tuesday, Feb. 18. The game was halted by rain in the fourth inning.Chenard faced the minimum of nine batters and recorded three strikeouts.

Brahmas defeat alumni

The Hallettsville Brahmas trailed the Alumni 4-0 after two and a half innings before coming back with a seven-run third to win 26-7.After the Alumni scored two runs in the top of the fourth, the Brahmas put across 9 runs in the bottom of the frame.

PALACIOS – The Hallettsville chalked up a District 25-AA road victory with a 56-36 verdict over Palacios, Tuesday, Feb. 4.The Brahmas overcame 19 turnovers with 48.0% shooting from the field including 41.6% from behind the arc.

Brahmas defeat Tigers in OT

The Hallettsville Brahmas ended a four-game losing streak with a 44-42 overtime victory over Tidehaven in a District 25-AAA here Tuesday, Jan. 30.The Brahmas outscored the Tigers 4-2 in the OT period.The Brahmas had a 17-9 lead after the first period and led 29-25 lead at the intermission.

Brahmas drop games to Edna, Columbus

The Hallettsville Brahmas are losing but it’s not because they are not trying.The Brahmas lost two games in District 25-AAA last week to Edna and Columbus, the most recent a 69-57 loss the Cardinals Friday night.

Brahmas suffer two district losses

The Hallettsville Brahmas couldn’t keep up with Yoakum with the Bulldogs posting a 52-38 victory in a District 25-AAA game here Friday night.Yoakum led 11-9 at the end of the first period and the lead grew to 24-15 at the half.

1995 State Champion Brahmas to be recognized

In the 1995 high school baseball season, the Hallettsville Brahmas accomplished a feat that had never been done before at Hallettsville High School by winning the UIL Conference 3A state baseball championship.

Brahmas improve to 2-3 in District

Hallettsville drubbed Palacios 54-40 for their second District 25-AAA victory against three losses.The Brahmas shot 43.7% from the field and out-rebounded the Sharks 35-16.Hallettsville took a 16-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and the margin grew to 37-26 at the half.

Brahmas record first 25-AA victory

EL MATON – The Hallettsville Brahmas’ first District 25-AAA victory came at the expense of the Tidehaven Tigers, 60- 26, Friday night.Three players scored in double figures as the Brahmas shot a red-hot 53.3% from the field and committed just 13 turnovers.

SCHULENBURG – The Hallettsville Brahmas avenged losses to Schulenburg and Moulton in the Schulenburg Tournament Friday and Saturday.Brahmas 45, S’burg 38The Brahmas held on to beat Schulenburg 45- 38 Friday afternoon.
