Burning bans still on in Lavaca, DeWitt counties

Lavaca County commissioners keep burn ban intact  By Jimmy Appelt, Staff Writer The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a special-called emergency meeting prior to its regular meeting Tuesday morning, Oct. 10 and voted to continue with a burn ban for the county.

Connected Nation released broadband survey findings

Representatives from the nonprofit Connected Nation met with several local and regional officials in Cuero last week for the much-anticipated release of the group’s broadband internet survey findings, having completed their surveys earlier this year in both Lavaca and DeWitt counties.
