HISD board approves depository bid

The Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a special called meeting Wednesday morning and heard a report from board member Brian Henneke regarding the depository contract.
Twenty-four faculty members were recognized at the Monday, Aug. 11 Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees meeting. The teachers received the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation. HISD faculty members receive Teacher Incentive Allotment

Twenty-four Hallettsville ISD faculty members were recognized at the Monday, Aug. 11 Board of Trustees’ meeting for being designated for Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation.The TIA was a result of the 86th Texas L egislature and signed into law in 2019 by Governor Gregg Abbott.

Area schools report first day enrollment

The school term for 2025-26 began during the past two weeks with area schools, Sacred Heart Catholic School and Hallettsville, Ezzell and Vysehrad ISDs, reporting their first day enrollment numbers.Ezzell ISD was the first area school to start with students reporting on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Board approves tax rate notice

The Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a regular meeting Monday evening and approved the tax rate notice for the 2025-26 budget year.The Voter Approval (VA) rate calculated for the district for this year is 0.877352 cents per $100 valuation.

Class Is in Session: HISD Returns Aug. 14

The Hallettsville Independent School District will open its doors Thursday, Aug. 14 with the start of the 2025-26 school year.School administrators expect an enrollment of 1,150 with the elementary expecting 452 students, while the junior high anticipates 311 and the high school 387 students.
