Hearing about all the words that get added to a language has become almost commonplace in our world of social media, Wikipedia and mile upon mile of online apps and spell checkers that make things like a big, fat, well-worn dictionary almost a thing of the past.

Ambulance struck by motorist on its way to a call Sunday evening

Hallettsville police cited a motorist Sunday evening in the 800-block of West Fairwinds Street (U.S. Highway 90A) after the driver failed to control his speed and struck the side of a Lavaca County EMS ambulance while that vehicle was responding to an emergency call just west of Hallettsville.
